Muffin has now been in our care for a few weeks, and while she has settled in well, her journey is far from over.

Before coming into our care, Muffin was diagnosed with diabetes. Since then, our team has been working around the clock to help get her condition under control. She receives insulin injections twice a day, has her blood glucose levels monitored constantly, and has regular veterinary check-ups as we carefully adjust her treatment to find the right balance.

Our goal is to get Muffin stable enough to move into a loving long-term foster home, or even better, find a forever family willing to give her the life she deserves. But before that can happen, there is still a long road ahead.

Anyone who has cared for a diabetic dog knows that diabetes is a lifelong commitment. It doesn't just require dedication and time. It also comes with significant ongoing costs. Muffin requires specific food, insulin, glucose monitoring supplies, frequent veterinary visits, and she will soon need to see a veterinary specialist to ensure we are giving her the very best chance at a healthy future.

As a not-for-profit rescue, these costs add up quickly, and we simply can't do it alone.

Your generosity will help ensure she receives everything she needs...not only while she's with us, but also as she transitions into her forever foster home or, hopefully, an adoptive home. This amount is an estimate of what Muffin's costs will be for the next couple of months. 

Muffin didn't choose to have diabetes, but together we can make sure it doesn't stop her from living a happy, comfortable and loved life.
